Conveyor/Shuttle Machine
This machine is equipped with a conveyor prechamber system. The workpiece carrier is moved back and forth by means of a shuttle. The vacuum in the welding chamber is constantly maintained. The conveyor chamber has a volume of about ¼ of the welding chamber. It is vented each time a pallet change is performed.
The workpieces to be processed are mounted on a workpiece carrier having the corresponding clamping or turning devices while the loaded pallet is already evacuated in the conveyor prechamber. The third workpiece pallet just welded is exchanged with the pallet provided in the prechamber after completing the welding process. The entry to the main chamber is closed and the welding process of the new parts can be started immediately. Simultaneously, the prechamber is vented and the pallet equipped with the welded parts can be conveyed to the unloading station. At the same time a newly loaded pallet is introduced.
Advantages:
- high flexibility
- multiple-use devices available
- suited for series production
- to a large extent, non-productive times parallel to the primary processing time (if the welding process lasts longer than the non-productive times this machine type is used optimally).
