Melt Dispersing and Embedding

The surface layer of a base material is molten until a depth of a few mm by using an electron beam and by adding high-melting particles such as carbides. The unmelted particles of the filling material are deposited in the melted layer of the base material. These particles are frozen in the surface layer when solidifying.
