Welding-in

In case of welding-in the melting depth in the components to be joined is already specified.
In this process a molten pool is developed, which can change its shape depending on the material and the parameter specifications. A molten pool is defined by:

• weld seam width
• weld seam depth
• weld seam shape

On modern electron beam systems all welding parameters can be entered digitally by hand or they can be recalled in a digitally programmed manner. Thus, welding can be repeated at any time.
The welding depth depends on the beam power, the focus position in relation to the workpiece, the working distance, the feed rate and the material.
