Spur Gear

This example shows how delivery times of forges and foundries can be reduced by using designs suitable for electron beam processing.

• On both sides of this turned ring a shoulder for receiving the bottom and the cover was turned.
• The bottom was tacked on the ring with TIG tack points. The bushings are inserted in the fits.
• The cover is TIG tacked by hand.
• Thus, the component is positioned on K30.

This is a design suitable for electron beam processing. If the customer – after consulting us – prepares the components in this manner after an unbeatable time for delivering a finished spur gear will be guaranteed.
In individual cases it can be determined whether tooth forming and heat treatment are to be performed even before welding.
