Fully Automatic Electron Beam Welding System for Deutsche Bahn AG

Serial production of frog points made of standard rails requires special knowledge in process and mechanical engineering. The base material of standard rails has a carbon content of up to 0.8%. In standard rail production the tread surfaces are hardened. For the user it is particularly important to maintain the good material properties of these components during electron beam welding.

This electron beam machine system developed in cooperation with DB-Netz AG (German Railways) is suited for the fully automatic welding of high-quality frog points for different railway networks. The heart of this system is an electron beam chamber machine having a length of about 13m.
